Symphonic Winds
The premiere performing symphonic ensemble at CHS,
students in Symphonic Winds perform on an advanced level and should expect extra practices and
performances. They consistently perform Grade 6 music, with a strong emphasis
on technique, interpretation, and musical understanding. Designed
for "dedicated" music students who enjoy performing, students are
required to be in the Mighty Marching Chargers. After-school rehearsals
are required at times during the year.

Concert Band
Concert Band students receive an intense study of band literature,
requiring regular class study and after school rehearsals. In 1998-99, the Concert
Band performed at the Grade 5 level, a first at CHS. With both public
performances and festivals, members are also encouraged to participate in the
Mighty Marching Chargers.

Cadet
Band
This in an introductory band program that focuses on basic skills of
"band" instruments. Emphasis is on the fundamentals of sound
production, embouchure, hand position, rhythm, and note reading.
